The GOSI would like to announce to its contributors who are covered by the social insurance law, both the private sector workers and the government employees, the issuance of the Royal Decree No. (M / 134) dated 27/11/1440 AH which is implemented as of Friday 01/12/1440 Hijri, corresponding to 02/08/2019, to approve the amendment of Article No. (38) of the social insurance law to achieve equality between men and women in the retirement age to be 60 for both sexes. 
It is worth mentioning that the social insurance law used to allow women to obtain pension once they reach the age of 55, subject to providing a minimum contribution period of ten years. This resulted in less participation of women in the labor market as a result of being excluded by some employers once they reach the age of 55.
Accordingly, GOSI would like to thank the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Crown Prince for approving this amendment, which preserves the rights of women and guarantees their equality with men at the retirement age of 60.
