GOSI: approval of reducing the percentage of contributions to the Unemployment Insurance Law-Saned

The General Organization for Social Insurance announced the approval of amending the contribution rates in the unemployment insurance law "Saned", whereby it was approved to reduce the contribution rates to one and a half percent (1.5%) of the wage subject to contributions instead of two percent (2%). This rate shall be borne equally by both the beneficiary and the employer as of 01/01/2022.

The organization explained that the decision to reduce the contribution rate comes as a result of the periodic evaluation of the fund's obligations and the benefits granted by the law, as the periodic evaluation of the system and review of the contribution rates continue according to the approved mechanism, which reflects the flexibility of procedures regarding the development and improvement of regulations and legislation, stressing that the decision to reduce contribution rates does not affect the amount of compensation due to Saned beneficiaries, whether current or future beneficiaries.

The organization also indicated that the rates of bearing the new contributions will be (0.75%) on the beneficiary and (0.75%) on the employer, instead of (1%) on the beneficiary and (1%) on the employer, and the collection mechanism will continue as preceded.
